Leafy Seadragon

Hello! I’m a Leafy Seadragon. I live in the cool, sparkly water near Australia. I might look like a piece of floating seaweed, but that’s my special trick! All my leafy bits help me hide from bigger fish. I love to gently sway back and forth with the real seaweed in my ocean garden home.

I am not a fast swimmer. I like to take my time, drifting and floating along. When I get hungry, I look for yummy, tiny shrimp. When I see one, I point my long snout like a straw and… SLURP! I suck them right up. It’s the perfect snack for a slow-moving seadragon like me.

Before I hatched, my dad took care of me. I was a tiny egg, and he carried me and all my brothers and sisters on his tail to keep us safe. Now, I get to float and hide in my beautiful ocean home, being a living piece of the underwater world and helping keep it magical.
