Cleopatra
Hello. My name is Cleopatra. I was a princess who lived a long, long time ago in a warm, sunny land called Egypt. My home had pointy pyramids that touched the sky and a long, sparkly river called the Nile. The sun felt warm on my face, and I loved watching the boats float by on the water. I loved to learn new things. I learned to speak in many different languages. It was like knowing lots of secret codes to talk to friends from all over the world. It made me so happy to understand what people from far away were saying. Learning was my favorite game to play every single day.
When I grew up, I became the queen. It was my job to take care of my home and all the wonderful people in it. I wanted to make Egypt the best place to live, full of yummy food, beautiful buildings, and happy families. I always made sure everyone had enough to eat and a safe place to sleep. I made friends with important leaders from a faraway place called Rome. One was a brave man named Julius Caesar, and another was named Mark Antony. We worked together like a team to help our people and keep them safe. We would share ideas and help each other make good choices for everyone.
I ruled for many years, and I always tried to be a strong and smart queen for my country. I loved my home more than anything. Even though I am not there anymore, people still tell my story today. They remember me as the last queen, or pharaoh, of ancient Egypt, who loved her home with all her heart. I hope when you hear about Egypt, you think of me and the magical land I called home. Always be kind and clever, and love your home just like I did.
