A Story from the Ocean Waves
Whoosh. Splash. Can you hear me when you go to the big, big water? I come right up to the sand to say hello. I tickle your toes with my cool, foamy bubbles. Whoosh. I run back again. I love to play peek-a-boo with the shore. I am a big, splashy secret that rolls and crashes all day long. I am the Ocean Waves.
I have a favorite dance partner. Do you know who it is? It’s the Wind. When the Wind blows gently, it whispers to me, and I make tiny, soft ripples. We dance slowly together. But when the Wind gets excited and blows very hard, I get excited too. I grow bigger and bigger. I leap up high and then crash down with a loud ROAR. The Wind helps me dance all across the big blue ocean.
I love it when you come to play with me. You can build a sandy castle right by the water, and I will come and give it a big, wet hug until it disappears. It’s so much fun to watch you jump over me when I am small. Sometimes, big kids will ride on a board right on my back. Whee. My sound can also help you feel sleepy and calm. Next time you visit the beach, listen for my whoosh and my splash. I will be waiting to play with you.
