My Sweet Story of a Golden Ticket
Before you even know my name, you can feel the magic inside me. I whisper tales of chocolate rivers and lollipop trees. I am a book. When you open my cover, a wonderful adventure pops out, filled with sweet smells and fizzy sounds. I am a happy place, a yummy place. My name is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and I am full of sweet surprises.
My story-maker was a kind man with a twinkle in his eye. His name was Roald Dahl. He dreamed me up a long, long time ago. He put my story into the world for everyone to read on January 17th, 1964. He remembered when big chocolate factories would send sweet candy to his school for children to try. He thought, what if there was a secret, magical factory? So he filled my pages with a kind boy named Charlie. He filled my pages with a silly candy-maker named Willy Wonka. And he put in a special, shiny golden ticket that started a grand adventure for everyone.
For many years, children have snuggled up to read my words. They dream of visiting the chocolate factory with Charlie. My story has jumped out of my pages and into fun movies and plays that families love to watch together. I am here to remind you that being kind and using your imagination are the best adventures you can have. I hope my story makes you smile and dream of your own sweet adventures.
