The Jungle Book's Story

Listen closely. can you hear that. It's the sound of the big green jungle. A friendly bear says hello with a happy growl. A sneaky snake slithers in the grass. I am made of paper with little black words on my pages. But when you open me, a whole world comes alive. It is a world of stories about a boy who talks to animals. I am The Jungle Book.

A kind man with a big imagination made me. His name was Rudyard Kipling. A very long time ago, in the year 1894, he sat in his cozy house. He dreamed of the warm, sunny jungles of India where he grew up as a boy. He wanted to tell his daughter wonderful stories, so he wrote them down in my pages. He filled me with brave friends. There is Mowgli, a little boy who is raised by friendly wolves. There is a big, happy bear named Baloo who loves to sing songs. And there is a smart black panther named Bagheera who always keeps his friends safe.

For so many years, children just like you have opened my cover. They go on adventures with Mowgli in the big green jungle. They sing silly songs with Baloo and learn how to be brave like Bagheera. My stories have even jumped out of my pages. Now they are colorful movies you can watch and happy songs you can sing. I am here to show you that friends can be found everywhere. The best adventures are waiting for you inside a story.
