The Book with a Snowy World Inside
I sit on a shelf, quiet and still. But I have a secret inside. A big, big secret. When you open my cover, a little puff of chilly wind whispers hello. It smells like pine trees in a snowy forest. Inside my pages, there is a big wooden closet. It’s called a wardrobe. But it’s not just for clothes. It’s a secret door. A door to a magical world. I am the storybook, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
A very kind man with wonderful pictures in his head made me. His name was C.S. Lewis. He dreamed of a snowy forest and a friendly little creature called a faun. He dreamed of four children who were brave and kind, like a little girl named Lucy. And he dreamed of a big, strong lion named Aslan who had a gentle roar. He put all his happy dreams right onto my pages for everyone to see. He shared me with the world a long, long time ago, on October 16th, 1950. When children open me up, whoosh. They go on an adventure to the magical land of Narnia. They meet talking animals and feel the crunch of the snow under their feet.
For many, many years, I have been a special key. A key that opens a door to your imagination. Even today, children just like you open my cover and find the snowy world waiting. You can watch movies about Narnia and play games with Aslan and Lucy. I am a promise that magic is always waiting for you. All you have to do is open my cover, turn the page, and step inside. The adventure is always here.
