The Wizard of Oz (novel)

Hello. I am full of magic. My pages have bright, colorful pictures. The pictures tell a big story. There is a long, yellow road that winds and winds. In my story, you will meet a friendly scarecrow who wants a brain to think with. You will meet a shiny tin man who wants a heart to feel with. And you will meet a fuzzy lion who wants to be brave. A little girl named Dorothy and her dog, Toto, follow the road to a sparkly green city. I am a book full of adventure. I am 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz'.

A man with a big, happy smile made me. His name was L. Frank Baum. He loved telling stories. He wanted to make a brand new fairy tale just for you. He used his words to build the magical Land of Oz. Another man, named W. W. Denslow, helped him. He used his paintbrushes to draw all my friends. He drew the scarecrow, the tin man, and the lion. He made them look so friendly. Together, they made me. On May 17th, 1900, I was all finished. My story could finally be shared with children everywhere. I was so excited to be opened.

Now, my story is not just in my pages. It is in movies with singing and dancing. Everyone knows my friends. They learned that what they were looking for was inside them all along. The scarecrow was smart. The tin man was kind. The lion was brave. My story reminds everyone that after a big trip, there is no place like home.
