The Story of Bellerophon and Pegasus
Look up in the sky. It is a horse with big, beautiful wings. His wings love to catch the wind as he soars high above the fluffy white clouds. His name is Pegasus, and he is a horse who can fly. Long, long ago, in a sunny land with sparkling blue seas, Pegasus loved to gallop across the bright sky. Down on the green ground, a kind and brave boy named Bellerophon watched him and dreamed of flying, too. This is the story of how they became the best of friends, the story of Bellerophon and Pegasus.
One night, a kind goddess named Athena gave Bellerophon a special, shiny bridle. It was made of gold. The golden bridle helped Bellerophon show Pegasus he was a friend. Pegasus let the brave boy climb on his back. Together they flew. Up, up, up they went. They swooped and swirled through the air, just like a kite on a windy day. But a king needed their help. A creature called the Chimera was scaring everyone. The Chimera had a lion's head and breathed little puffs of smoke. Bellerophon and Pegasus knew they had to be brave and help their friends.
Pegasus and Bellerophon flew together to find the Chimera. They worked as a team. They swooped down from the big sky. They chased the smoky creature far, far away. The Chimera never bothered anyone again. Everyone cheered for the two brave friends. Their story shows that with a good friend, you can do anything. And sometimes, when you look up at the night sky, you can see the shape of a flying horse in the stars, reminding everyone to be brave and dream big.
