The Story of the Monkey King
On a tall, green mountain, there were yummy peaches and sparkly waterfalls. A big, smooth stone sat in the sun. One day, the stone began to wiggle and jiggle. Wiggle, jiggle, CRACK. Pop. Out jumped a little monkey with bright, twinkly eyes. His name was Sun Wukong. He loved to laugh and play fun tricks. He could leap from fluffy cloud to fluffy cloud. He was so clever and strong that he became the king of all the monkeys. He was the handsome Monkey King. But being a king wasn't enough for Sun Wukong. He wanted to go on a big, big adventure called the Journey to the West.
Soon, the Monkey King met a kind monk named Tripitaka. The monk needed to go on a long, long trip to a faraway land. He had a very important job to bring back special, wise books. But the journey was dangerous. "I will protect you." said the brave Monkey King. On their trip, they made new friends. They met a funny pig-man named Pigsy. Oink, oink. Pigsy loved to eat yummy snacks. They also met a quiet and strong river-monster named Sandy. Splash, splash. Sandy helped carry their heavy bags. Together, they were a team. The Monkey King had a magic staff that could grow super big or shrink super small. When tricky monsters tried to stop them, SWOOSH. The Monkey King used his magic staff to keep everyone safe.
After many days and many nights, they finally reached the faraway land. Hooray. They got the special books. They brought them all the way back home, and everyone was so happy and proud of them. The Monkey King, the monk, Pigsy, and Sandy were all big heroes. Their story teaches everyone that being brave and working together with your friends is the best magic of all.
