Robin Hood and the Secret Gifts

In a big, green forest lived a hero named Robin Hood. The forest was called Sherwood Forest. Tall, tall trees reached for the sky and birds sang happy songs. Sunlight peeked through the leaves, making sparkly lights on the ground. Robin Hood wore a green hat with a soft feather. He was very good with his bow and arrow. But outside the happy forest, some people were sad. A greedy Sheriff took all their shiny coins, and they had none left. This is the story of Robin Hood.

Robin Hood was not alone in the big, green forest. He had happy friends called the Merry Men. His best friend was Little John, who was very, very tall. So tall. There was also kind Friar Tuck and the lovely Maid Marian. They saw the sad villagers who had no coins for yummy bread. They saw they had no coins for warm clothes. So, Robin Hood and his friends whispered and made a secret plan. It was a fun, secret plan to help everyone.

Robin Hood and his Merry Men would playfully trick the Sheriff's men and take back the extra coins. Then, shhh, shhh, shhh. When the moon was a bright circle in the dark sky, they would sneak to the village. They left little bags of shiny coins on the doorsteps of the poor villagers. In the morning, the people would find the gifts. Surprise. Now they could buy bread and warm blankets. The story of Robin Hood teaches us that helping others is the best treasure.
