Africa's Sunny Story
Feel the warm, sparkly sand wiggle between your toes. It stretches for miles and miles like a giant sandbox under the big, bright sun. Listen. Can you hear the chatter of happy monkeys playing high up in my tall, green trees? Look over there. See the tall, tall giraffes with long necks eating leaves from the treetops. Roar. A sleepy lion is taking a nap in the golden grass. I am a place full of sunshine and amazing animals, a land of big adventures. I am the great continent of Africa. Hello. I am so happy to meet you.
I was the home for the very first people in the whole wide world, a long, long time ago. It was here that they learned to stand up on two feet and take their very first steps. They played games and laughed together right here on my warm ground. I have a long, sparkly river that flows like a big, blue ribbon. It is called the Nile River. Clever builders used the river’s water to help them stack big stones, one by one, just like building blocks. They built giant triangle-shaped homes for their kings. These amazing homes are called pyramids, and they still stand tall and proud today.
Today, I am still full of sunshine and happy people. So many families live here. They sing joyful songs that make you want to dance. Clap, clap, clap your hands. Stomp, stomp, stomp your feet. They tell wonderful stories that have been passed down from grandmas and grandpas. Everyone loves to share yummy food and big smiles. I am Africa, a continent of sunshine, stories, and happy hearts. I am always here, waiting to share my wonders with the world and with you.
