The Story of Eli the Elephant

Hi there. My name is Eli, and I'm an African Elephant. I am the biggest animal on land. Can you see my big, floppy ears? They help keep me cool under the warm sun. And look at my long, wiggly trunk. I use it to say hello to my family, drink water, and pick up yummy snacks. My trunk is very strong and helps me do so many things every single day.

I live with my mom, my aunties, and all my cousins. We are a family, called a herd. We do everything together. We walk across the sunny savanna to find tasty leaves and grass to eat. My favorite thing to do is splash in the water and take a fun, squishy mud bath with everyone. The mud protects my skin from the sun. It feels like we are having a big party in the water and mud.

Being an elephant is a very important job. When I eat fruits, the seeds travel through my tummy and come out in my poop. This plants new trees and helps our home grow big and beautiful. I love being a giant gardener for the whole savanna. I help make sure there are always plants and trees for all my friends.
