Finn the Bottlenose Dolphin
Hi there. My name is Finn, and I’m a bottlenose dolphin. I live in the big, blue, sparkly ocean. Even though I live in the water, I’m a mammal, just like you. That means I need to breathe air. I can't breathe underwater, so I swim up to the top and whoosh. I breathe through a little hole on the top of my head called a blowhole.
I don't live by myself. I live with my family in a group called a pod. We do everything together. We swim through the waves, chase each other in fun games, and leap into the air just for fun. It feels like flying. Being with my pod makes me feel safe and happy.
Do you want to know how I talk to my family? I can't use words, so I make special sounds. I make clicks, whistles, and squeaks to say 'hello' or 'let's go find some yummy fish.'. These sounds help us stay together and find our way. By being a playful, chattering dolphin, I help make the ocean a lively and wonderful home for everyone.
