The Unicorn of the Sea

Hi there! My name is Narwhal, and some people call me the unicorn of the sea. Can you guess why? It’s because of my super long, spiraled tusk! It looks like a horn, but it’s actually a very special tooth that grows through my upper lip. It’s not for fighting. It helps me feel all the little changes in the chilly water around me. It’s like having a magic wand to explore my home!

I live in the coldest water you can imagine, way up north in the Arctic Ocean. Brrr! I love swimming between big floating chunks of ice with my family. We are called a pod. We love to play follow-the-leader and talk to each other with clicks and whistles. When we get hungry, we dive down, down, down into the deep, dark water to find yummy fish and squid for dinner. It's a big adventure every day!

Being a narwhal is a very important job. My family and I help keep the Arctic Ocean a happy and healthy place. We are a special part of this big, beautiful, icy world. I love zooming through the water with my tusk leading the way, exploring the amazing home I get to share with all my ocean friends. The sea is my home, and I'm so glad I get to be its unicorn!
