Genghis Khan
Hello, my name is Temüjin. When I was a little boy, I lived on big, grassy fields under a giant blue sky. The grass was so tall, it tickled my nose when I ran through it. My family and I lived in a round, cozy house called a ger. It was like a big, warm hug, and we could move it wherever we wanted to go. My very favorite thing to do was ride my horse. We would gallop together, fast as the wind. Whoosh. Sometimes life was hard, but it taught me to be strong and brave. I learned how to take care of my family, and I loved them very, very much.
As I grew up, I saw many different groups of people. They lived all around me, but they didn't always play nicely together. It made me feel sad to see them argue. So, I had a big, wonderful idea. What if we all joined together. What if we became one big team, like a giant family. I talked to everyone and told them my idea. I said, 'We are stronger when we are friends.' They liked my idea. They chose me to be their leader to help everyone work together. A long time ago, in the year 1206, they gave me a very special name. They called me Genghis Khan. It means 'leader of everyone.'
As the leader of everyone, our big family grew and grew. We made new rules so that everyone was treated fairly and with kindness. We shared our food, we shared our homes, and we even shared our favorite stories and songs with each other. It was wonderful to see so many people helping one another. My story shows that when people stop arguing and start working together as one big team, they can do amazing and happy things. It is always best to be kind and fair to everyone you meet.
