William Shakespeare: A Man of Many Words

Hello. My name is Will, and I am from a town called Stratford-upon-Avon. A long, long time ago, I was a little boy who loved words. I loved big words and small words. I loved rhyming words and funny words. Most of all, I loved stories. Sometimes, actors would travel to my town to put on shows. I would watch them with wide eyes, feeling so excited. They wore fun costumes and used big, booming voices to tell amazing tales. Seeing them made my heart feel so happy. I knew that one day, I wanted to tell wonderful stories just like them. I wanted to create worlds with my words.

When I was a grown-up, I moved to the big, busy city of London. There were so many people and so much to see. It was the perfect place to share my stories. I started to write my own plays, which are special stories for actors to say out loud on a stage. I wrote about kings and queens, and I wrote about magical fairies who lived in the woods. I even wrote silly stories that made everyone laugh. I built a special theater called the Globe. It was round, like a big wooden circle. People loved coming to my theater to watch the actors bring my stories to life. It was a happy place full of fun and imagination.

I wrote and wrote. I wrote so many plays and lots of poems, too. My stories were for everyone. After a long and happy life, I grew very old and then I died. But my stories live on. Even today, people all over the world read my words in books and watch my plays in theaters. My stories still make people laugh, cry, and think about the world. I hope my words and stories can bring a little bit of magic to you, too.
