Have you ever seen a little bunny with a fluffy tail nibbling on sweet, green clover? And have you ever seen a sneaky fox with a bushy tail watching that bunny? It’s like a big game of tag where everyone is chasing their lunch. I am the one who connects them all. I show how the bunny gets its energy from the yummy clover, and how the fox gets its energy from the hopping bunny. I am the Food Chain.

My story starts with the big, bright sun. The sun is like a giant yellow ball in the sky. It sends down warm sunshine energy, like a yummy snack, to all the green plants. Plants use that sunshine snack to grow big and strong. Then, along comes a fuzzy little caterpillar to munch, munch, munch on a tasty leaf. Chirp, chirp. A little bird with bright feathers swoops down to eat the wiggly caterpillar. I am the path that passes the sunshine snack from the plant to the caterpillar and then to the bird. It's a chain of who-eats-what that keeps everyone going.

I am so important because I connect every single plant and animal. I connect the tiniest bug to the biggest, furry bear. I help keep our world healthy and happy. When you learn about me, you learn how to take care of all the living things around us. By helping the little plants and animals, you help everyone in the big circle of life. We are all connected, and that makes our world a wonderful, happy place to live.
