Your Superpower Friend, Force
Hello there. I am a secret friend who is always with you, even though you cannot see me. You can feel me when you play. I am the big push that sends your swing soaring high, high, high into the bright blue sky. I am the gentle pull that helps your little red wagon follow you down the path. When you toss a ball way up, I am the one who brings it back down to your hands. I am the invisible helper that makes kites dance and wiggle in the wind. I am everywhere, a secret friend helping you play.
For a very, very long time, nobody knew what to call me. Then, a very curious man came along. His name was Isaac Newton, and he loved to ask big questions like 'why?'. One sunny day, a long time ago in 1666, he sat under a big, leafy apple tree. He was thinking his big thoughts and watching the world. Suddenly, plop. A round, red apple fell from a high branch and landed right on the soft green grass. Isaac Newton watched the little apple. He wondered, 'What is the invisible pull that brought the apple to the ground?'. He knew it was me. He thought and thought and thought about this puzzle. This big question helped him give me my name. He called me Force. He also learned that I'm the secret pull that keeps our feet on the ground and stops us from floating away. He called that special part of me gravity.
Now you know my name. It's Force. And you use me all the time. It is like having your very own superpower. When you kick a soccer ball across the grass, that's me helping you. When you stack your colorful blocks up, up, up to build a tall tower, that is me helping too. Even when you give someone a big, warm hug, you are using me. I am always here to help you run, jump, build, and play. I am your superpower friend, helping you explore your big, wonderful world.
