The Birth of Venus
Hello. I am a beautiful painting. I feel like a happy dream. A paintbrush tickled me and made me come alive. Swish, swoosh. The brush painted a big blue sea and a soft yellow sky. In the middle of the water, there is a giant pink seashell. It is so big. And guess what. Someone is standing inside the seashell. She has long, golden hair that wiggles in the breeze. She is brand new, just like a little flower opening in the morning. I sparkle when the light touches me.
A very kind man made me a long, long time ago, way back in the year 1486. His name was Sandro Botticelli. He lived in a sunny place called Italy. Sandro wanted to tell a special story with his paints. It is a story about a lovely person named Venus. He painted her being born from the sparkly sea foam. She looks so sweet and gentle. Sandro also painted two friendly winds who gently blow her big seashell to the land. See them puffing their cheeks. Another friend is waiting on the shore. She holds a warm blanket with pretty red flowers to wrap Venus in. It is a story about love and beauty.
Now, I do not live with Sandro anymore. I live in a big, special house for paintings. It is called a museum. So many friends come to see me every day. They come from all over the world. They look at my bright colors and smile. They see Venus on her big pink shell. I love showing them that stories can be told with pictures, not just words. I make people feel happy. I show them that beautiful things can last forever and ever.
