Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Once there was a little girl with golden hair named Goldilocks. She loved to walk in the big, green woods behind her home. One sunny morning, she walked farther than ever before and found a cozy little cottage. This is the story of what happened that day, a tale called Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The cottage door was open just a little bit. A yummy smell of sweet porridge floated out, and Goldilocks felt very curious. So, she tiptoed inside to see who lived there.

Inside, Goldilocks saw a long table with three bowls. There was a great big bowl of porridge. It was too hot! There was a middle-sized bowl of porridge. It was too cold! And there was a teeny-tiny bowl of porridge. It was just right! So, she ate it all up. Yum, yum! Then, Goldilocks saw three chairs. There was a great big chair. It was too hard! There was a middle-sized chair. It was too soft! And there was a teeny-tiny chair. It was just right! But when she sat down, CRACK! The little chair broke into pieces. Oh no! Feeling sleepy, Goldilocks went upstairs. She saw three beds. A great big bed was too hard. A middle-sized bed was too soft. But a teeny-tiny bed was so cozy and just right, she fell fast asleep.

Soon, the family who lived in the cottage came home. It was a big Papa Bear, a kind Mama Bear, and a little Baby Bear. They saw the spoon in the porridge. "Someone's been eating my porridge!" growled Papa Bear in his big, deep voice. "Someone's been sitting in my chair!" cried Baby Bear in his tiny, little voice, "and they've broken it all to pieces!". Quietly, the three bears went upstairs. They saw Goldilocks sleeping in Baby Bear’s bed. "Someone's been sleeping in my bed, and here she is!" squeaked Baby Bear. Goldilocks woke up and saw three furry bears looking at her. She jumped out of bed, ran down the stairs, and dashed all the way home. She learned that it’s important to respect other people’s homes and things.
