Jack and the Beanstalk

Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Jack. Jack lived with his mother in a cozy little cottage. One sunny morning, they had no food left to eat, and his mother was very sad. This is the story of a big adventure called Jack and the Beanstalk. Jack's mother told him they had to sell their cow, Milky-White. So, Jack took the cow to the market. On the way, he met a funny man who had five shiny beans. The man said they were magic beans and traded them for the cow.

When Jack got home, his mother was not happy about the beans. She thought they were just silly old beans and tossed them right out the window! The next morning, Jack peeked outside and saw something amazing. A huge, green beanstalk had grown all the way up to the sky! It was so tall it touched the fluffy white clouds. Jack was so curious. He wanted to see what was at the top, so he started to climb. He went up, up, up the big green plant. He climbed higher than the birds, right into the clouds. It was like climbing a ladder to the sky. When he finally reached the top, he saw a giant castle.

Jack quietly went inside the big, big castle. Inside lived a very big, very grumpy giant! The giant stomped his feet and shouted, "Fee-fi-fo-fum!" Jack hid until the giant fell asleep. Snore, snore, snore went the giant. Then, Jack saw a little hen that laid shiny, golden eggs. Jack knew the golden eggs could help his mother. He gently picked up the hen, tiptoed past the sleeping giant, and hurried back to the beanstalk. He scrambled down, down, down as fast as he could. When he got home, he and his mother chopped the beanstalk down, and they never saw the giant again.

Jack's story has been told for a very long time. It helps everyone remember that even when you start with something small, like a little bean, you can grow something wonderful. The story teaches us to be brave and curious. It helps us dream of our own big adventures, just like Jack's.
