The Golden Goose
Hello! My name is Dummling, and I live near a big, green forest. One morning, my mother gave me a sweet cake and a bottle of water for my lunch. I went for a walk under the tall, tall trees. Soon, I met a little gray man who looked very hungry. 'Would you like some of my lunch?' I asked. I gave him half of my cake and some of my water. He smiled a big, happy smile. 'Because you have a kind heart,' he said, 'a special treasure is waiting for you.' This is how my wonderful adventure with The Golden Goose began.
The kind man pointed to an old, old tree. I looked, and what did I see? I saw a beautiful goose with shiny golden feathers! The feathers sparkled in the sun. I gently picked up my golden goose and we went for a walk. We walked down a long, long path. Three sisters saw my amazing goose. They wanted a golden feather. One sister reached out to touch the goose. Poof! She was stuck! Her sister tried to pull her away. Poof! She was stuck, too! The last sister tried to help. Poof! All three were stuck! Soon, a parson and his helper tried to help them. Poof! They got stuck, too! We looked like a long, silly, sticky parade walking behind my goose.
Our funny parade walked and walked. We walked all the way to a big, tall castle. A princess lived in the castle. She was a very sad princess. She never, ever laughed. She looked out her big window and saw us. She saw me and my golden goose. She saw the three sisters stuck to the goose. She saw the parson and his helper stuck to the sisters. She giggled a little giggle. Then she chuckled a little chuckle. Then she let out a big, happy laugh! It was a beautiful sound! The king was so happy to hear his daughter laugh. He threw a big party for everyone. My kindness made a princess happy.
My story was first told a long, long time ago in a place called Germany. It helps show that being kind is like magic. When you share what you have, even if it's just a little bit, you can have big, happy adventures. My story of The Golden Goose reminds everyone to be kind. It reminds us to look for the fun and laughter in the world. A happy, kind heart is the best treasure of all.
