The Continent of Stories
I have tall mountains with snowy white hats that tickle the sky. I have warm, sunny beaches where little waves splash and giggle. My forests are green and quiet, and they whisper secrets to the wind. I am like a big, colorful quilt made of many different lands. In each patch of my quilt, people speak in different ways and sing different songs. All these wonderful places are connected, like friends holding hands. Do you know who I am. I am the continent of Europe.
For a long, long time, people have called me home. They built tall, stony castles that reached for the clouds. Kings and queens with shiny crowns lived inside them. Creative people have always loved me. A man named Leonardo da Vinci painted beautiful pictures here and dreamed up amazing flying machines. He was a great thinker. Yummy foods that you love were first made here, like cheesy pizza and sweet, sweet chocolate. And brave explorers with big hats and even bigger boats sailed from my shores. They went on adventures to see the rest of the big, wide world and make new friends.
Today, I am still full of amazing things to see and wonderful stories to hear. People visit my cities that sparkle with lights at night. They listen to beautiful music that makes them want to dance. Many of your favorite fairy tales began right here, in one of my cozy corners. I love being a home for so many friends from all over the world. I love sharing my stories with children just like you.
