Mecca, the City of Peace

I am a city in a warm, sunny valley. The sun smiles down on me all day. I love to hear the happy sounds of people talking and children laughing. In my heart, there is a very special house. It looks like a big, dark cube, all covered in a soft, silky cloth with shiny gold writing. People love this house very much. They come to see it and feel peaceful and happy. Everyone feels safe here. I am a very special place. I am the city of Mecca.

My story started a long, long time ago. A kind man named Abraham and his son, Ishmael, came to my valley. They built my special house, stone by stone, like stacking big, strong blocks. They made it a house for everyone to love God. This special house is called the Kaaba. Many years later, another kind person was born here. His name was Prophet Muhammad. He was gentle and he loved everyone. He taught people to be good to each other, to share their toys and food, and to always be kind. He told them to come and visit my special house to feel close and happy together. Because of him, I became a city where everyone is welcome to be friends.

Today, friends from all over the world visit me. They come from far away places, over tall mountains and across big blue oceans. When they arrive, they all wear simple, white clothes. Everyone looks the same, like one big, happy family walking together hand-in-hand. They circle around my special house and share smiles. I feel so full of love when they are here. I am a place for peace. I am here to remind everyone that we can all be one family, sharing kindness and love with the whole world.
