A Home for Everyone's Dreams

I have tall, tall mountains with snowy white hats that poke the big, fluffy clouds. I have warm, sandy beaches where the ocean waves tickle your toes. My rivers wiggle like sleepy snakes through green, green forests where squirrels play hide-and-seek. At night, my big cities sparkle with a million tiny lights, like stars that fell from the sky. I am a place full of amazing things to see and do. I have so many different parts, all special and beautiful. I am the United States of America, a big family of places all joined together.

A very long time ago, the first people lived here. They were called Native Americans, and they knew all my secrets. They knew how to listen to the whispers of the wind and talk to the animals in the forest. Then, brave people sailed in big boats across the giant ocean to find a new home. They wanted a place where they could be happy and free. One special day, on July 4th, 1776, some very good friends decided it was my birthday. They wrote down their big ideas on a special paper so everyone would know that this new country was a place for kindness and big dreams.

Ever since my birthday, people from all over the world have come to live with me. They bring their yummy foods, their happy songs, and their wonderful stories to share. This makes me a big, colorful home full of fun and friendship. I am a home where many different people share their dreams. From my sunny shores to my starry skies, I love being a place where everyone can grow and shine together.
