Far, far away, in the inky blackness of space, there was a space station that sparkled like a giant disco ball. Inside, three children were having a very hard time sleeping. It was bedtime, but their eyes just wouldn't close. And in the big, beautiful sky, there was a blue-violet star named Twinkle. Twinkle wasn't just any star; she was a sleepy star, and tonight, she felt sleepier than ever! Her soft glow changed colors, sometimes pink, sometimes gold, and sometimes a gentle green. She also had a special pouch where she collected yawns—a pouch that was almost overflowing! Tonight, Twinkle decided she was too sleepy to stay in the sky, so, very gently, she began to fall.
Down, down, down she floated, past twinkling constellations and swirling nebulae. Twinkle had a very important job: to snuggle next to kids who couldn’t sleep. Her gentle touch was known to bring the sweetest dreams. Her soft glow also helped calm everyone around her. She knew every single lullaby ever sung, and her special dream pillows were famous throughout the galaxy. She aimed for the sparkly space station, which was like a big, bright house floating in the sky.
Inside the space station, Azal was playing with her favorite toy puppy, carefully placing a tiny crown on its head. "Woof, woof!" she said to the puppy. Azal loved puppies, bags, shoes, and fish, but she really disliked the robot vacuums that zipped around the space station. Wang was practicing his martial arts, his movements swift and strong. He loved dragons, history, and martial arts, but he did not like loud noises, especially the ones from the space station's engines, or losing a game. Shreya was listening to her favorite Indian classical music, humming along softly. She loved dancing and singing, but sometimes she found it hard to be quiet for too long. And tonight, all three of them were wide awake.
Suddenly, a soft blue-violet light began to fill the room. The children looked up and gasped. Floating gently near Azal's bed was Twinkle! She glowed with a soft, gentle light. "Hello," Twinkle said in a soft, calming voice. "I'm Twinkle. I'm a Sleepy Star, and I've come to help you sleep." Twinkle’s light shifted from blue-violet to a calming green. The children, surprised but not scared, felt their worries melt away. Twinkle’s glow shifted again, this time a warm yellow, and the children felt a peaceful feeling wash over them.

"I can make dream pillows!" Twinkle announced. "They show the most wonderful dreams. Azal, what would you like to dream about?" Azal's eyes lit up. "Puppies! And crowns!" Twinkle smiled and waved her soft, star-shaped hands. Poof! A dream pillow appeared, showing puppies frolicking in a field, each one wearing a tiny crown.
Then Twinkle turned to Wang. "And you, Wang? What adventures do you desire?" Wang thought for a moment. "Dragons! And history!" Twinkle winked. Poof! Wang's dream pillow showed brave dragons in historical settings, practicing martial arts and learning about the world, all while soft Indian classical music played in the background.
Finally, Twinkle looked at Shreya. "And what about you?" Shreya thought about it and said, "I want to dream of dancing and music!" With another gentle wave, Twinkle created a dream pillow filled with vibrant dances and melodies. The children were so excited! They held their dream pillows close, ready to drift off to sleep.
Suddenly, the space station's engines began to make a loud, rumbling noise. Brrrr-umm! The children frowned. "Oh dear," said Twinkle, "sometimes the space station gets a little noisy." She opened her yawn pouch, which was filled with hundreds of fluffy yawns. "These yawns will help soak up the sound," she explained. "And I know every lullaby ever sung."

Twinkle began to sing, her glow changing colors with each note. The engines' noise slowly faded away as Twinkle's voice filled the room. Her voice sounded like a soft wind whispering through the stars, soothing and calming. The children snuggled into their pillows. Her colors shifted to a soft orange, then gentle pink and then the children felt peaceful and sleepy. Her voice turned to a quiet hum, and they could barely hear the lullaby.
Soon, the children's eyes began to close. Azal giggled softly and whispered, "Puppies… and crowns…" Wang murmured, "Dragons… and history…" Shreya’s smile turned to a peaceful expression.
Twinkle knew it was time for her to go. "I must return to the sky now," she said gently. "But I promise to visit you again!" Before she left, Twinkle gave each child a small, star-shaped bag. "These are bags of dreams," she explained. "To keep your favorite dreams close." Azal received a bag filled with tiny, shiny shoes. Wang received a bag brimming with miniature historical artifacts. And Shreya got a bag filled with sweet, musical notes and songs. Twinkle glowed brightly, waved goodbye, and floated gently back towards the window, ready to begin her journey home.
As Twinkle left, the children drifted off to sleep, their dream pillows tucked beside them. Azal dreamt of puppies wearing shoes and crowns. Wang dreamt of dragons in ancient martial arts schools, and Shreya dreamt of dancing to beautiful songs from the past.
Sometimes, even the things that make us a little uncomfortable can be managed, and even sleepy stars need a little rest. Sweet dreams, little ones!
