Whale Shark

Hello there. My name is Whale Shark, and I am the biggest fish in the whole wide ocean. But don't you worry, I am a very gentle giant. I love to swim and glide through the water. My back is a beautiful dark gray, blue, or brown, and it is covered in pretty white spots and stripes. My spots look just like a starry night sky. Every single whale shark has their very own spot pattern, just for them. It makes me special.

I love swimming slowly in the warm, sunny ocean. It feels so nice. When I feel hungry, I open my mouth really, really wide. It looks like I am taking a big gulp of the sea. But I am not eating big fish. I eat teeny-tiny ocean snacks called plankton. They are so small. It is like I am swimming through a big, yummy soup and scooping up all the tasty bits. It is the perfect meal for a big fish like me.

I have a very important job in my big blue home. By swimming around and eating my tiny snacks, I help keep the ocean water clean and healthy for all the other fish and animals. I love being the ocean's gentle, spotty giant. It is wonderful to swim in the big blue sea and help take care of my home. My story is about being big and kind, and helping the world around me.
