The Wiggle in the Air

Hello, can you hear that? Maybe it’s a puppy barking woof, woof! or a parent humming a happy song. That’s me! I carry those special sounds all the way to your ears. You can’t see me, but I’m everywhere, wiggling and jiggling through the air like an invisible bouncy ball. I help you hear things that are close by and things that are far away. What am I? I am a Sound Wave!

So, what is a wiggle, anyway? Imagine you toss a pebble into a calm puddle. See those little circles that spread out? I'm kind of like that, but in the air! When a bell rings ding-dong, it shakes the air and sends me zooming out in all directions. I can be a big, strong wiggle for a LOUD lion's ROAR, or a tiny, gentle wiggle for a soft shhh from a book. I can even travel through your toys! If you tap on a wooden block, I wiggle right through it.

My most important job is connecting you to your world. I carry the sweet notes of a birthday song and the exciting vroom of a toy car. I help you listen to stories at bedtime and hear your friend say, 'Let's play!' Without me, the world would be very quiet. But with me, it's full of music, laughter, and love. Every time you listen, you’re using me to explore. What wonderful sounds will we discover together today?
