Square

I have four sides, can you see. All of them are the same length, yippee. I have four pointy corners, just for you. Can you guess my name? What do you think is true. I am a Square. That's me. I am like the soft, fluffy pillow where you rest your head for a nap. I am like a colorful block you use to build a big, tall tower. All my sides are the same, all four of them. That makes me special and fun.

Long, long, long ago, people looked all around and they saw me. They saw how my square friends and I could fit together just right. Click, click, click. We made strong, flat floors for them to walk on. We made tall, strong walls for their cozy homes. There were no wiggles and no wobbles when we worked together. Because all my sides are the same, I help make everything fair and even. Like when you share a yummy sandwich cut into four pieces, I make sure everyone gets the same size bite. Sharing is so much fun when it's fair.
