Have you ever heard the sky grumble with thunder and felt the air buzz with energy? That's me, getting ready for an adventure! My name is Thor, and I live in Asgard, a golden city in the sky connected to your world by a shimmering rainbow bridge. My best friend is my mighty hammer, Mjölnir, which crackles with lightning and always comes back to my hand when I throw it. But one morning, on October 1st, I woke up to a terrible silence. My hammer was gone! This is the story of how a grumpy giant stole my thunder, and how I had to use a very silly plan to get it back. This is the tale of Thor's Stolen Hammer.
When I woke up, my powerful hammer, Mjölnir, was missing. I searched everywhere, my red beard shaking with anger. I felt a rumble of fury build inside me, but I knew anger alone wouldn't bring Mjölnir back. I needed help, and I knew only one person clever enough to help me: Loki, the god of mischief. I found him and said, 'Loki, my hammer is gone! You must help me find it.' Loki, always ready for some excitement, borrowed a magical feather cloak from the goddess Freya. Wearing the cloak, he could fly like a falcon! He soared all the way to Jotunheim, the land of the giants, to look for my hammer. There, he met the giant king, Thrym, who proudly told him, 'I have Thor's hammer! And I will only give it back if I can marry the beautiful goddess Freya.'
When Loki returned and told Freya the giant's demand, she was so furious that her necklace shattered and all of Asgard trembled. 'I will never marry a giant!' she declared, and I couldn't blame her. We gods didn't know what to do. My hammer was gone, and Freya refused to be the price to get it back. Then, the wise god Heimdall came up with a wild idea. 'There is only one way,' he said. 'Thor must dress up as Freya and pretend to be the bride!' I grumbled loudly. Me, the God of Thunder, in a wedding dress? It sounded ridiculous! But I knew it was the only way to get Mjölnir back. So, with a heavy sigh, I let them dress me in a long gown, put a lovely veil over my face, and hang Freya's sparkling necklace around my thick neck. Loki, dressed as my bridesmaid, came with me to the land of the giants.

Loki, dressed as my bridesmaid, came with me to the land of the giants.
At the wedding feast, the giant king Thrym watched me with confusion. I was so hungry I ate an entire ox and eight whole salmon! The clever Loki leaned over and whispered to the king, 'Freya was so excited to meet you, she hasn't eaten for eight days!' Later, Thrym tried to peek under my veil for a kiss. He saw my fiery eyes glaring back and jumped in fright! Loki quickly saved the day again. 'She hasn't slept for eight nights, dreaming of this day!' he explained. Finally, Thrym called for my hammer. 'Bring out Mjölnir to bless our wedding!' he boomed. The moment the hammer was placed in my lap, I grabbed its handle. I tore off the veil and stood up in all my power. With Mjölnir back in my hand, I sent the surprised giants running and returned to Asgard, the sound of thunder cheering my victory.
My story shows that sometimes, you have to be clever as well as strong to solve a big problem. Long ago, the Viking people, who were brave sailors and explorers, told this story and others like it around crackling fires in the winter. These myths helped them feel brave and taught them about friendship and courage. Today, the stories of Asgard live on. You can see me, Loki, and my father Odin in comic books, movies, and video games. These ancient tales still spark our imaginations, reminding us that even in the biggest storms, a little bit of cleverness and help from a friend can save the day. And whenever you hear the thunder, you can smile and think of me, Thor, protecting the sky.
