Just want Banff National Park?
I have tall mountains that wear snowy white hats all year long. My lakes sparkle like shiny blue jewels when the sun smiles down on them. My forests are deep and green, and they are full of secrets whispered by the wind in the trees. Can you guess who I am. I am Banff National Park, a giant, beautiful playground in the country of Canada.
My story began a long, long time ago. In the year 1883, three workers were building a big train track that chugged through my mountains. One day, they found a secret surprise. It was a cave, and inside, there was warm, bubbly water. It felt like a cozy bath made by nature itself. A kind leader named Sir John A. Macdonald heard about this special, warm water. He knew it was a treasure that needed to be kept safe for everyone to enjoy. So, on November 25th, 1885, he made a very important rule to protect me. That was the day I became Canada's very first national park, a special place for all.
I am a safe and happy home for many animal friends. Big, furry bears roam through my forests, looking for yummy berries. Fluffy white mountain goats climb my rocky hills, playing tag with each other. Gentle deer with big, soft eyes nibble on the green grass in my meadows. People are my friends, too. Families come to visit me and walk on my winding paths. They paddle little boats called canoes on my shiny lakes, and their laughter echoes across the water. At night, they look up at the big sky and see millions of bright, twinkling stars.
I love sharing my tall mountains and sparkly lakes with you. I am a quiet place where you can listen to the wind sing and watch the animals play. I am here to remind you how wonderful our world is. I will always be here, standing tall and beautiful, waiting for you to come and explore all my wonders.
