Just want Anger?
Hi there! My name is Anger. I show up when things feel unfair or don't go your way, like when a friend takes your toy. I can make your body feel hot and your face scrunch up tight. Sometimes I make you want to stomp your feet!
Imagine you are building the tallest block tower ever. Then, CRASH! Someone knocks it down. That's when I rush in! I can make your tummy feel bubbly and your fists clench into little balls. I might make you want to yell a big, loud ROAR because you worked so hard and now your tower is gone. It feels very frustrating, and I am there with you.
I am a very strong feeling, but you are in charge of your body. When you feel me getting big, you can find a grown-up to help. You can also take a deep breath and blow it out like a dragon to cool down. Stomping your feet on the ground can help get my energy out. Using your words and saying, “I’m mad you knocked my tower down!” is a super strong thing to do.
I'm not a 'bad' feeling. My job is to be a helper and tell you that something feels wrong or unfair. Once you listen to me and calm your body, we can work together to solve the problem. All of your feelings are okay, and I am just one of them.
