The story

A Frog's Life

Hello! I am a friendly frog. My life started in a very special way. I was a tiny, tiny dot inside a jelly egg. My egg floated in a cool, quiet pond with all my brothers and sisters. We were all little dots together. Then one day, pop! I wiggled out of my egg. I wasn't a frog yet. I was a little tadpole with a long tail. I swished my tail back and forth, back and forth. That is how I swam all around the big pond with all my tadpole family. Wiggle, wiggle, swim.

Being a tadpole was so much fun, but then an amazing thing happened. I started to change. It was very exciting. First, I grew two little legs at the back of my body. Wiggle, kick. Then, I grew two more legs at the front. Wiggle, kick, wiggle, kick. My tail, the one I used for swimming, started to get smaller and smaller. It got so tiny that one day, it was all gone. I wasn't just a swimmer anymore. I was ready to hop. I took a deep breath and gave a big, big jump. Boing. I landed right on a big, green lily pad floating on the water. I was a hopper.

Now that I am a frog, I have a very big job in my pond home. My job is to help keep everything happy and healthy. I sit very, very still on my lily pad and I watch. I watch for yummy bugs that fly by. When I see one, zap. My super long, sticky tongue shoots out and catches it for a snack. By eating bugs, I help all my friends in the pond. When the sun goes down and the moon comes out, I love to sing my happy song to everyone. Ribbit, ribbit.
