The story

A Pudú's Tiny Tale

Hello, I am a pudú. I am the smallest deer in the whole world. My fur is soft and reddish-brown, like a teddy bear. My legs are tiny, and they help me walk very quietly through my forest home. I am so small that I can even hide under the big green leaves on the ground. When I stand very still, you might not see me at all. It is my favorite game to play.

I live in the cool, rainy forests of South America. My home has lots of tall trees and green bushes. I am very shy, so I love my cozy home. I like to play hide-and-seek in the thick bushes. I make little zig-zag paths when I walk, which helps me stay hidden from bigger animals. I am a quiet explorer. For lunch, I look for my favorite foods. I love to eat yummy green leaves, pretty flowers, and sweet berries that grow close to the ground. They are all so delicious.

Even though I am very small, I am a big helper in my forest home. When I eat tasty fruit and berries, the little seeds inside them travel with me. As I walk along my zig-zag paths, I spread the seeds all over the ground. These seeds grow into new plants and tall trees. I help keep my forest beautiful and healthy for all my friends. Being a tiny helper makes me very happy.
