A. A. Milne: The Story of Winnie-the-Pooh
Hello! My name is Alan Alexander Milne, but you can call me A. A. Milne. I am a writer, which means I get to spend my days dreaming up wonderful stories and poems. I especially love writing stories for children, just like you.
I had a wonderful son named Christopher Robin. He had a room full of toy animals who were his best friends. He had a bouncy tiger, a small piglet, and a gloomy donkey. But his very favorite friend was a cuddly, honey-loving teddy bear named Winnie-the-Pooh. I loved watching them play together in the woods near our house. It gave me a brilliant idea!
I decided to write down all the amazing adventures that Christopher Robin and his animal friends had. I wrote books about their fun in a magical forest called the Hundred Acre Wood. In my stories, Pooh Bear, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore could all talk and play games, like Poohsticks!
I lived to be 74 years old. Even today, children and families all around the world still read my stories. They love visiting the Hundred Acre Wood to see what Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends are up to.
