Just want Ella Fitzgerald?
Hello! My name is Ella Fitzgerald. When I was a little girl, I loved to sing and dance more than anything. Music made my heart feel happy and my feet want to move. I would sing along to songs on the radio and pretend I was on a big stage.
One night, I got a chance to sing on a real stage! I felt a little bit shy and my knees were wobbly. But I took a deep breath, remembered how much I loved to sing, and sang my favorite song. Guess what? The people listening clapped and cheered! After that, I learned a fun new way to sing called 'scat.' Instead of words, I would sing happy sounds like 'doo-be-doo-wah!' to make my voice sound like a trumpet.
I sang for many, many years, and people gave me the special name 'The First Lady of Song.' I got to share my music with people all over the world. I lived to be 79 years old. Even today, my songs are played on the radio, and they still make people want to smile and dance. Whenever you feel happy, you can sing a little song, just like I did!
