Hello! My name is João, and I was a prince. I lived in a big, beautiful palace in a country called Portugal a long, long time ago. I loved exploring the gardens and playing games with my family.
One day, we had to go on a very big adventure! In the year 1807, my whole family and many of our friends packed our things and got on big ships. We sailed across the giant blue ocean for many, many days. We saw dolphins jumping in the waves! Finally, we arrived in a warm, sunny land called Brazil. It was full of colorful birds and amazing new fruits to eat!
I loved Brazil so much. I decided it should be a special kingdom, just like my home, Portugal. I was a king who had a home in two wonderful places across the sea. I lived to be 58 years old. People remember me as the king who took his whole kingdom on a great big boat trip and cared for people on both sides of the ocean.
