Just want Mark Twain?
Hello! My real name was Samuel Clemens, but everyone knows me by my special writer name, Mark Twain. I was born a long, long time ago, in the year 1835. When I was a boy, I lived near the giant Mississippi River. I loved to watch the big steamboats chugging along. They puffed out big clouds of smoke, and it was the most exciting thing to see!
I loved telling funny stories and writing books about amazing adventures. In the year 1876, I wrote about a boy named Tom Sawyer who was always looking for treasure. I also wrote about his best friend, Huckleberry Finn, who floated down the big river on a raft. My stories were full of fun, friendship, and exploring the world.
I lived a long time, for 74 years, and I filled it with as many stories as I could. I passed away in the year 1910. Even today, children and grown-ups still read my books. They love the adventures of Tom and Huck, and they remember me for the funny and exciting tales I shared with the world.
