Just want Quentin Blake?
Hello. My name is Quentin Blake. Ever since I was a little boy, my very favorite thing in the whole world was to draw. I drew on everything. I drew in books and on paper and anywhere I could make a mark. When I held a crayon or a pen in my hand, it felt like magic. I loved making scribbly, wiggly lines dance across the paper. One line would turn into a funny face, and another would become a silly animal. It was wonderful to watch my drawings come to life.
My drawings are special. They look a little bit messy and very quick. This makes them look like they are full of energy and ready to jump right off the page. I had a very good friend named Roald Dahl. He was a writer who told the most amazing stories. I got to draw the pictures for his books. Have you ever heard of the BFG. He was a very, very tall giant, and I drew him. I also drew a clever little girl named Matilda. It was so much fun to read Roald Dahl's words and then imagine what his characters looked like. I would think about their funny faces and their silly clothes, and then I would draw them for everyone to see.
I am still drawing pictures today. I love to draw very big pictures for special places, like hospitals. I hope my drawings help make people feel happy and smile when they see them. Drawing is such a wonderful way to share all the fun things in your imagination with the world. The best part is that anyone can do it. All you need is a piece of paper and something to draw with, and you can make your own magic.
