Just want Rafael Pombo?
Hello! My name is Rafael Pombo. I loved to play with words, making them rhyme and dance like music. I lived in a beautiful country called Colombia. More than anything, I loved writing stories and poems, especially for children just like you. I thought stories should be full of fun and silly surprises.
My stories were filled with funny characters. One of my favorites was about a little tadpole who wore a big hat and went for a walk. His name was Rinrín Renacuajo. Can you imagine a tadpole in a hat? I also wrote about a little old lady who had everything in the world but still cried, and a silly boy named Simón. I loved thinking about all the adventures these characters could have. Writing about them always made me smile.
I wrote stories for many, many years, and I lived to be 78 years old. Today, children in my home of Colombia still read my books. They laugh at Simón the Silly Boy and sing songs about the tadpole who went for a walk. It makes me so happy to know that my stories are still shared at bedtime and that my funny animal friends are making new friends like you smile every single day.
