Hello there! My name is Rudyard Kipling. I was born on December 30th, 1865, in a warm, sunny place called India. It was full of amazing sights and sounds! I loved seeing all the animals there—monkeys swinging in the trees, big elephants, and sneaky tigers. Seeing them gave me wonderful ideas for stories.
I loved animals so much that I wrote stories about them. I imagined a little boy named Mowgli who grew up in the jungle with a family of wolves! He had a best friend who was a big, sleepy bear named Baloo and a clever panther friend named Bagheera. They had so many adventures together! In 1894, I put all their stories into a book I called 'The Jungle Book'.
I wrote many poems and stories, but my favorite ones were about the jungle. I lived to be 70 years old. It made me so happy that my stories traveled all over the world. Even today, children like you can read my book or watch a movie and visit Mowgli, Baloo, and all their friends. I hope my tales of adventure always make you smile.
