Sergei's Piano Songs

Hello! My name is Sergei Rachmaninoff. Ever since I was a little boy living in a big country called Russia, I have loved music. My favorite thing in the whole world was the piano. Its black and white keys looked like a big smile. I loved to press the keys and listen to the beautiful sounds they made. It felt like magic was coming from my fingers.

I didn't just play songs that other people wrote. I loved to make up my own. Some of my songs were big and loud, like a happy giant stomping around. Other songs were soft and quiet, like a lullaby for a sleepy kitten. My hands were very, very big, which was perfect for reaching all the keys I needed to play my exciting music for everyone.

I traveled all over the world on big ships and trains to play my piano songs for people. It made me so happy to see them smile when they heard my music. I lived to be 69 years old, and I filled my life with beautiful notes. Even though I am not here anymore, my music is. People still play my songs today, so the magical music I made will never, ever stop.
