A Story About Theodore Roosevelt

Hello! My name is Theodore Roosevelt, but my friends called me Teddy. I was born a long time ago, on October 27th, 1858. When I was a little boy, I loved to have adventures. I would go outside and explore everything. I collected bugs and learned all about birds and animals. My home was full of amazing things from nature. It was like my very own little museum!

When I was all grown up, I had a very important job. I became the President of the United States. That's a big job that helps a lot of people. I wanted to make sure all the beautiful forests, tall mountains, and wonderful animals in our country would always be safe. So, I helped make special places called national parks. These parks are like big, safe playgrounds for nature. Animals can live there happily, and people can come to visit and see how beautiful our world is.

One day, a kind toymaker heard a story about me. The story was about how I was kind to a little bear cub. He thought that was a nice story, so he made a new stuffed toy. He decided to call it a 'Teddy Bear' to remember me. Have you ever hugged a soft teddy bear? That toy is named after me!

I lived to be 60 years old. People still remember me today when they visit a beautiful national park or cuddle their cozy teddy bear. I hope you will always love and protect our wonderful world, just like I did.
