Just want Jana Gana Mana?
Before I had a name, I was a feeling. I was a melody floating in the warm air of a big, beautiful country. My notes are made from the sounds of rushing rivers, the sights of tall mountains, and the feeling of sunshine on your face. I am a song that holds all the different people, places, and amazing stories of a huge nation inside of me. When you hear me, you might feel your heart beat a little faster with pride and happiness. My purpose is to bring everyone together with my music. I am Jana Gana Mana, the national anthem of India.
A wonderful poet named Rabindranath Tagore gave me my voice. In the year 1911, he thought about his lovely country, India. He imagined all the different people who lived there, from the snowy mountains in the north to the sunny beaches in the south. He wanted to write a special song that felt like a big hug for everyone, no matter where they lived. So, he carefully chose words that painted a picture of India's strong and kind spirit. On December 27th, 1911, I was sung for the very first time in a city called Calcutta. The people who heard me felt a powerful sense of togetherness, as if my music was connecting all of their hearts into one.
Many years went by, and the people of India worked hard to make their country free and independent. After this big change, the leaders of the new nation wanted to find a special song that could represent everyone. They listened to many melodies, looking for one that sounded like hope and unity. They wanted a song that would make everyone feel proud. They remembered me. On January 24th, 1950, they made a very important announcement. I would be India's official National Anthem. Imagine how proud I felt. From that day on, I belonged to every single person in India. I am now sung at schools in the morning, before exciting sports games, and on special holidays when everyone celebrates together.

Today, whenever my music begins to play, people stop what they are doing and stand up tall. It is their way of showing respect for me and for their country. I am more than just lyrics and a tune. I am a reminder that no matter where you come from or what language you speak, you are part of one big, amazing family in India. I am the sound of unity, a song of pride that has been passed down from parents to their children for many years. I will continue to sing for India forever, filling hearts with joy and connecting everyone with my timeless melody.
