Just want Jana Gana Mana?
Before I had a name, I was a happy feeling, a little tune waiting to be sung. I am not a tall building or a colorful painting. I am a song! I float on the air and fill people's hearts with pride. I am like a warm hug for a whole country. My name is Jana Gana Mana, and I am a very special song for India.
A kind man with a big imagination, named Rabindranath Tagore, created me. He loved India with all his heart. On December 11th, 1911, he wrote down my beautiful words. My words sing about India's tall mountains, its flowing rivers, and all the wonderful people who live there. Soon after, on December 27th, 1911, I was sung out loud for the very first time! My voice filled a big room, and everyone who heard me felt so happy and proud to be together.
Many years went by, and on a very important day, January 24th, 1950, I was given a special job. I became the national anthem of India! That means I am the song for the whole country. Now, children in schools sing me, people at big games sing me, and everyone stands up tall and proud when they hear my music. I am a song that brings everyone together, reminding them that they are all part of one big, amazing family.
