The story

The Story of a Great Adventure Book

I have a strong cover like a secret door. Inside, my pages are filled with little black marks that whisper a grand adventure. When you open me, a whole world of excitement jumps out. It is a story about a brave man, a faraway island, and a hidden treasure chest sparkling with jewels. I am a book. I am the story of The Count of Monte Cristo.

My maker was a man with a big imagination named Alexandre Dumas. He dreamed me up a long, long time ago. He used his special pen to write my story between August 28th, 1844, and January 15th, 1846. He told the tale of a young sailor named Edmond Dantès. Poor Edmond was sent to a big castle prison on an island. But Edmond was very clever. He escaped. Then, he found a secret map and discovered a wonderful treasure. The treasure made him a mysterious and heroic Count. What a fun story.

Ever since my last page was written, I have traveled across the whole world. I love sharing my story with children and grown-ups everywhere. I make people feel excited and brave. I show them that even when things seem hard, you can be clever and strong. I am a story that lives in your imagination, reminding you that adventure is always waiting, right inside the pages of a book like me.
