French Revolution

My name is Juliette, and I live in a beautiful city called Paris. There are tall buildings and pretty parks where I like to play. But sometimes, my tummy makes a loud rumbling sound. It means I am hungry for a soft, warm piece of bread. My friends are hungry, too. We heard that the king and queen live in a big, sparkly palace. They have so much yummy cake to eat every day. It did not feel fair that they had so much while our tummies were so empty. We wished they would share with everyone in Paris so we could all have happy, full tummies.

One sunny morning, there was a big parade in the streets. It was very exciting. Lots of my neighbors were there, and everyone was walking together. I heard people using their big voices, but they were not shouting to be mean. They were shouting for fairness and for sharing. They waved colorful flags in the air as they marched. It felt like a big, important party. We were all walking together to the king's big palace. We just wanted to ask him to please share his food so that all the children in Paris could have a yummy piece of bread to eat.

After our big parade, things started to get better. It was a very happy feeling. People learned that when we all work together and use our big voices, we can help everyone. We learned that sharing is the most important thing. The best treat in the whole world is not cake, but making sure all your friends have enough to eat and are treated with kindness. That makes everyone's heart feel warm and happy.
