Just want Holi?
Hello, my name is Prahlada, and long ago, I was a prince. My father was King Hiranyakashipu, and he was the most powerful king in the whole world. He was so strong that he thought he was more powerful than anyone or anything. He wanted everyone to worship him and only him. But my heart was full of love for someone else, the great Lord Vishnu, who I believed made the stars, the sun, and everything good in the world. I would sing songs for Lord Vishnu and pray to him every day. This made my father very angry. He would stomp his feet and shout, "I am the king. I am the strongest. You must worship me.". I loved my father, but I knew I had to follow my heart. This disagreement was a big problem, like a dark cloud over our beautiful palace. My father could not understand why his own son would not listen to him.
My father tried everything to change my mind, but my faith in Lord Vishnu was as strong as a mountain. Finally, he became so frustrated that he asked his sister, my aunt Holika, for help. Now, my aunt Holika had a secret. She owned a magical shawl that protected her from fire. No flame could ever burn her as long as she wore it. She and my father came up with a terrible plan. My aunt said, "I will build a giant bonfire, as big as a house. I will sit in the middle of the flames with Prahlada on my lap. My special shawl will keep me safe, and your problem will be gone forever.". When I heard this, a shiver went down my back. I was scared, but deep inside, I closed my eyes and whispered Lord Vishnu's name. I believed he would protect me. The guards led me to the giant pile of wood. I could feel the heat on my face as my aunt Holika pulled me onto her lap and the fire was lit all around us.

I could feel the heat on my face as my aunt Holika pulled me onto her lap and the fire was lit all around us.
As the fire roared to life, the flames danced higher and higher, licking the night sky. Everyone watching gasped, thinking this was the end for me. But then, a miracle happened. A great gust of wind, stronger than any I had ever felt, swept through the bonfire. It felt like a giant, invisible hand. The wind lifted the magical shawl from my aunt Holika's shoulders. It flew through the air and wrapped itself gently around me, covering me completely. The shawl protected me from all the heat, and I did not have a single burn. But my aunt Holika, who wanted to do something so unkind, was defeated by the very fire she created. The fire burned out, and I walked away, safe and sound. The next day, when the sun rose, the people celebrated. They saw that good had won over evil. To share their joy, they threw colorful powders, called gulal, on each other, laughing and dancing. This celebration became the festival of Holi, a happy reminder every spring that love and goodness will always shine the brightest.
