Francisco Pizarro's Big Adventure

Hello, I'm an Explorer!

Hello there. My name is Francisco Pizarro, and I am an explorer. That means I love big adventures. I lived in a country called Spain, which is very far away across the big, blue ocean. I always dreamed of sailing on a giant ship. I wanted to see what was on the other side of the water. I hoped to find new lands with tall mountains and green trees. Most of all, I wanted to make new friends and share amazing stories. I packed my bags, waved goodbye to my home, and got on a big boat. The wind pushed our sails, and our exciting journey began. Whee, we were off on an adventure.

A Journey to the Clouds

Our boat sailed for many, many days. The sun was warm, and the water went splash, splash, splash. One day, a friend shouted, “Land.”. I looked out and saw something amazing. In the year 1532, we had arrived in a new place called Peru. The mountains were so, so tall they looked like they touched the clouds. Wow. As we walked on the land, we saw fluffy animals with long, soft necks. They were called llamas, and they were very friendly. The people who lived there were friendly, too. They wore beautiful clothes with bright colors like red, yellow, and blue. Everything was so new and exciting. It was a land full of wonders, just like I had dreamed.

Making New Friends

Soon, I met the leader of this wonderful land. His name was Atahualpa, and he was a kind king. He smiled and welcomed us to his home in the mountains. We did not speak the same words, but we could understand each other with smiles and friendly hands. We shared our food with them, and they shared their yummy corn and potatoes with us. It was like a big party. We decided to work together to build a beautiful new city by the sea. We called it Lima. It was a happy place where all our new friends could live together, play together, and share their stories. My adventure helped bring people from different worlds together to build something new.
