The story

A Special Day for Caring

Hello! I am Valentine's Day. I am a special day that comes once a year. My day is all about showing friends and family how much you care about them. It is a time for sharing happy feelings and being extra kind to the special people in your life.

People have many sweet ways to show they are thinking of someone. Many friends and family members give each other cards. These cards are called “valentines.” They are filled with nice thoughts and happy words. Sometimes, children make their own valentines in school to give to their classmates and teachers. Sharing these cards is a fun way to make someone smile.

Besides cards, people also give other gifts to show their love. They might share sweet treats like heart-shaped candies or yummy chocolates. Another special gift is a bunch of beautiful flowers. Red roses are a very popular flower to give because the color red is often a symbol of love. These presents are a way of saying, “You are important to me.”

When my day arrives, you will see many special pictures and colors. The heart shape is everywhere! People know the heart is a picture that means love. The color red is also all around, in decorations, clothes, and gifts. Sometimes, you might see a picture of a character from old stories named Cupid. He is shown with a little bow and arrow. All of these things help make my day a happy time for celebrating friendship and love.
